When do we say " Thank You"
As I was walking on the street, I heard somebody saying “ Thank you” and when I looked back, I saw a little girl talking to her peers then I felt happiness because she knows to use it. unfortunately, it was neglected in our present times, where most people are greedy and materialistic. As I continue walking, I felt sad because many people nowadays have forgotten the value and essence of saying “Thank You". People have lost the gratitude in their hearts. They do whatever they wanted to do without knowing that they hurt somebody’s feeling. People are more selfish than being thankful. Saying “thank you" is form of gratitude, which is an integral part of well-being. When do we say thank you? Thank you is usually used when somebody relieved from their suffering or become comfortable through others help. How does thankfulness work? Being thankful can relieve various negative emotions such as envy, resentment, regret, and hatred. Aside from this, saying "thank you", can build relationship and a good friendship where fears are fading. But did you know that there is more correct way of using or saying “Thank you”. That is, by saying it to our Almighty God, where our life and strength came from. There is no great way of serving God other than worshipping Him through thanksgiving and praises because of His unconditional love and blessing as well as the forgiveness of our sins through His son that He has given to us. A good example of this is the story of a ten lepers who begged Jesus for healing and so He cleansed them. One of them, realizing he had been healed, returned glorifying God. In reply, Jesus said, “ten were cleansed were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God? Then He said to him, “ Stand up and go, your faith has saved you”. (Luke 17:11-19). We must be thankful to God even for a single moment that He has given to us because without Him we can do nothing.
One thing that I always bear in mind is that “When you have the chance to do good, do it quickly before it gone” Always thank God for the blessings He bestows on us as well as for the bad things or adversity that happened in our life because God is a God of righteousness. He cannot give as a problem or a burden without knowing that it cannot make us grow. I’m so thankful that I learned all these things and I’m so proud to be a part of thousands who serve God for this coming “International Thanksgiving" by the members of the Church of God International to be held on July 16-17, 2005. To God be the Glory!!!!
